Date: Saturday, 17 July 2021
Kick-off 01:30 UK/ 02:30 CET
Venue: Exploria Stadium.

Suriname is hoping to avoid another defeat and possibly a group stage elimination on Friday evening when they face Costa Rica in the second round of the Concacaf Gold Cup.
On day 1, Suriname could not beat Jamaica 0-2 at the start of the Concacaf Gold Cup. The Jamaicans were strong at the time, conceding some goals in the 26th minute of the game.

Suriname has not done much to pave their way back into the competition since they are currently in a difficult position ahead of the second round in Costa Rica.

Costa Rica is one of the favorites (along with Mexico and the United States) to go all the way in this tournament, despite their advanced age. They captured a simple but good win in their opening game against Guadeloupe.

The first goal and an assist from Joel Campbell were scored by Colombian manager Luis Suarez. Deportivo La Coruna’s Celso Borges only sealed the victory with a goal in the middle of the second half.

The Costa Ricans want to avoid any trouble with the problem against the intelligent Jamaican side coming in the third round. The quality is on their side here, and we would be surprised to see anything other than a complete victory for Costa Rica here.
